Support

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Email support@wicam.app and tell us the phone number on your account, the camera’s name, and what you were doing when it went wrong. If the app is behaving oddly, the app version from Settings helps us a great deal.

Before you write, the problems below account for most of what we hear.

Setting up a camera

The camera will not join my Wi-Fi. The camera reads your Wi-Fi details from a QR code shown on your phone screen. Hold the phone about 20 cm from the lens, straight on, and give it a few seconds. If nothing happens: reset the camera first (hold the reset button until it announces it is ready), check the Wi-Fi password character by character, and move the camera closer to the router for the first connection.

I cannot scan the camera’s QR code. Type the camera’s ID by hand instead — it ends in the same place as scanning.

The camera says it is already registered. Each camera belongs to one account at a time. If you bought it used, the previous owner needs to remove it from their account, or transfer it to you, before you can add it.

Live view and recordings

The picture is slow or keeps stopping. Switch the quality from Auto down to SD. Auto adapts to your connection, but on a weak mobile signal a fixed low quality is steadier. Turning on Enable jitter in Camera Settings also smooths an unreliable connection.

There are no recordings. Recording needs a microSD card in the camera. Check SD card status in Camera Settings: if the card is missing, full or unreadable, nothing is being saved. The date chips in Records show only the days that actually contain footage, so a short list is normal on a new card.

A clip I need is gone. The card overwrites the oldest footage when it fills up. Download anything you may need to keep — a downloaded clip lives on your phone and survives the card being wiped.

Alerts

I am not getting notifications. Check, in order: the master switch at the top of AI Features is on; the specific detection is on; its detection time schedule covers the hours you care about; Do not disturb is not silencing it; and your phone’s own notification permission for WiCam is granted. On iPhone, notifications also require the app’s push setup to be complete — if alerts have never worked on your iPhone, tell us.

Too many false alarms. Use Human figure detection rather than plain motion detection; it ignores curtains, pets and headlights. Then lower the sensitivity, and use detection area to paint out the parts of the frame you do not care about.

Warranty

Every camera registered in the app carries a twelve-month hardware warranty from the date it was first registered.

The warranty follows the camera. If you pass it on, the new owner gets the remainder; if you receive a used camera, you continue what is left.

For a claim, email us with the camera’s serial number and a description of the fault.

Delete your account — see Delete your account.

My account was deactivated. The app shows the reason on the sign-in screen. Reply to it by emailing support@wicam.app.
